JULY 2008 — in stores May 13!
Lighten Up!
Lift your spirits! Warm tones are great for winter, but sunny summer days demand lighter quilts and accessories. It's truly amazing how the appearance of a room can be changed in no time at all with just a little effort. With that in mind, we asked our favorite designers to come up with some cheerful projects that are suitable for summer. Chantilly Reverie (our fabulous cover ensemble) by Jean Ann Wright, Remember When by Helen Weinman, and Rose Petal Dreams by Cate Tallman-Evans are all perfect for a bedroom re-do!
Going on vacation? Take a small project with you to piece or appliqué. Try the Full Sails wall hanging and table runner set or our whimsical Lucky Bugs banner. Anyone who wants a head start on Christmas can also turn to our bonus section, which contains several fabulous designs including a snowman appliqué banner and a poinsettia lap quilt.
Are vintage quilts your passion? Florrie's Quilt and Liberty Square both use reproduction fabrics that exude nostalgic charm. To learn about a treasure trove of actual historical quilts, you'll also want to read about Patricia Cummings' trip to Muster Field Farm and what she found there!
For summer projects and summer reading, we hope you'll agree that this issue is packed with value. May your days be long, your troubles few, and your stitches straight!
