![]() ![]() One of my favorite projects is Laurel's Fantasy by Helen Weinman, which graces the cover of this special holiday issue. A tribute to artist Laurel Burch, the quilt contains fabric that features some of her beautiful designs. Laurel passed away last year at the age of 62, but, thank goodness, her art lives on. If you enjoy handwork, check out Candlelit Yule by Susie Osburn. Embroidered designs, together with reproduction fabrics, give her wall hanging and pillow ensemble a nostalgic touch. Need something quick? Try making our Christmas Traditions Stockings or the Frosty Village panel quilt. Who better to ask for some decorating tips than Pearl Louise Krush of Thimble Cottage Quilt Village? Pearl sent us photos of her shop all decked out for the holidays, and then sent us a pattern too! So pour yourself a cup of tea, enjoy some Christmas cookies, and have fun planning your holiday gifts. May your quilting days be merry and your tangled threads few! P.S. Some of the actual projects that were photographed for this issue are being offered for sale by the quiltmakers. These are one-of-a-kind samples, so first come, first served. If the project is for sale, contact information is provided on the photo. |
